About the event

We’re excited to have our 8th grade students visit Miami for their Spanish field trip and experience Hispanic culture firsthand. Students will explore the rich Hispanic roots of Miami at the HistoryMiami Museum, learning how immigrants from countries like Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Venezuela have shaped the city’s culture and traditions. They will examine real artifacts, photographs, and exhibits that tell the story of Miami’s diverse communities and their historical journeys. Students will also learn about important events, such as Cuban migration, and how these moments influenced neighborhoods like Little Havana. Through these experiences, they will recognize the impact of Hispanic contributions in music, art, language, and daily life in Miami. This visit will help students better understand the connection between language and culture in a real-world setting, followed by lunch at Sergio's where they will experience authentic Cuban cuisine and traditions.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Caballero and Mrs. Teran
