Field Science Program at Everglades National Park

Dear Sixth Grade Students and Parents, 

I am pleased to announce that I have coordinated a field trip with the Everglades for the sixth grade class. In order to create meaningful connections, this program consists of 3 interactions with park rangers:

1. In School Visit: 03/19/2025- Park ranger(s) will complete a 1-hour presentation. This presentation will include background information about the Everglades, ecosystems, and a hands-on portion to practice using the tools the students will use out on a trail. 

2. In Park Visit: 03/24/2025 - Park ranger(s) will meet with the students in the park and use the data collection tools on a designated trail. Other activities may be included during the visit.

3. Virtual Visit: TBD - A live presentation with a park ranger and other relevant park employees will be conducted via virtual meeting during class to wrap up data that was collected and review any overarching ideas.
