Fairchild Tropical Gardens

7th-grade students will be going on a field trip to Fairchild Tropical Gardens.

This educational outing will offer students a unique opportunity to explore and learn about tropical plants and ecosystems in a vibrant, real-world setting.

During our visit, students will have the unique opportunity to tour the Orchid Micropropagation Lab.

Here, they will see firsthand how Fairchild scientists use advanced lab tools and techniques to support native orchid conservation efforts. 

This experience will provide valuable insights into scientific research and the importance of preserving our natural environment. 

We will also be exploring other parts of the botanical gardens.

Important Notes:

1. Lunch: Students will need to bring their lunch. Please ensure that their lunch does not require refrigeration. Please bring a water bottle.

2. Classes: Students will attend their first and eighth-period classes as usual. We will ensure they return to school in time for their eighth-period class.

3. Dress Code: Students should wear their PE uniforms, sneakers and Student ID.

4. Permission Slip: A permission slip has been sent home with your child. Please sign and return it by 09/25/24 to ensure your child’s participation in this field trip.
